No interior Design but a precious Accessory for your Bedroom

Interior Design has a lot to do with aesthetics. Even if a certain design may not represent your taste and preferences it still is about aesthetics.
Why do we collect all sorts of things? Because we find an object simply beautiful or because it is reminiscent of wonderful memories or because it spreads humour or because we affiliate a certain attitude with it. Quilts on the bed are an attitude. And it can be a wonderful aesthetic attitude for a room, especially when it is a heirloom or a precious piece such as this one - made of silk and handstitched with silk thread in many many hours.

Hi Petra,
So good to hear from you! Your work is truly lovely as always. The quilt is magnificent and we are feeling rather jealous at the moment (but in GOOD way...)

Hi Seraph, hi Splendor,
what a sweet compliment from you! Thank you! Imagine a piece like this one in dark purple or blood red - and everything in gorgeous silk of course with a black backing...hmmmm

Hi Petra - This is my first visit here. I am just picking up my jaw after viewing your most magnificent silk quilt. I have been quilting for a number of years now using silks, satins, brocades, our own mohair etc. and can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful that I have seen!
A credit to you - I would love to see your former silk squares quilt you mentioned also.

Thank you for your sweet compliment on my blog, Suzy! It made me smile allover.
Unfortunately I don't have any digital photos of that very first quilt - have to search for them first and need to digitalize and additionally that quilt does not exist any more. One of the silks I used started to disintegrate - don't know what was wrong - so I had to cut it up entirely :(. I have the suspicion that the brocades possibly initiated that - I have no idea - maybe some chemical intolerance. Difficult to say.
