Interior Design on Ranches and their Signatures

The interior design of a ranch would certainly include the appropriate symbols and signatures of a life on the country and living with its animals. But sometimes you can do a little too much I find as in this case.

The entry hall is quite dark and makes you well aware where you are and including a new object of interest like this silk painting adds even more focus to the land instead of a photo or painting with another "ranching" motif such as a typical "cowboy" motif. Landscaping

The monuments of nature have always been part of man's fascination. And despite all attempts the colours of nature cannot be reproduced in all their splendor and in all their variations. Each artificial reproduction will fade away in the face of the real scenery. Even photography is not capable of giving us what the eye and the soul is seeking.

Additionally colour is susceptible to every individual's interpretation. Sometimes it seems that colour becomes a very personal goal/achievement. This is the "burden" of any interior designer as well as any artist. Not to speak of the deficiencies some people are suffering from, such as colour blindness in various grades.

Still - colour is one of the most important elements of interior design and will always be unless we learn to live in a world one day that is no longer dependent on superficial surfaces - but that would be science fiction??

I "added" this silk painting Canyon to this hallway, thinking of opening spaces which lead into other spaces - fantasies - just as a valley would do. Where would you like to be? In the hallway or in the canyon?

The Charm of old Walls and ancient Motifs

In one of my later posts I talked about the charm of old walls. This is another example. While I wrote about two silk paintings from the Magic Symbols series and ancient Minoan culture in my German blog I am showing here how wonderfully these paintings would harmonize with the old walls of this room.

Hawaii and Morocco...

In times where I am sad I tend to look back and recall memories that heal my soul.
What could be more consoling than the landscapes on the Hawaiian Islands that I love so very much. Their greens are so soothing and the ocean's horizon is so far away that you feel there is a mergence of heaven and waters.

This room from the Moroccan Interiors is perfect of course without any additional stuff - it is simply marvellous. Still I could not hold back to play with one of my favourite silk paintings: The Valley. So I placed it seemingly into this awesome room to see how it would look like. What do you think about it? Ancient Cultures in a modern Living Room...

Silk paintings about ancient cultures fit very well into a modern interieur. When we think of even much older art such as the cave paintings which have been found in Australia we realize that their forms seem to be timeless.

You know my faible for Moroccan interior. It's the earth colours that make me feel so very well and I think many other people feel the same. So I played again and mounted my silk paintings into this lovely interior...

Silk Painting in opulent Environment

This one was fun to create and more or less a test how it would look like. The original image source is from my Moroccan Interiors again, one of my favourite books. I just wanted to see whether my silk paintings could be framed in an opulent frame such as this one and how it would look like. I like the result and if I hadn't tried this collage I would never have known.

Potentials of a Lounge - dipped in warm Colours

This acrylic painting Tourmaline II from the Minerals series is a little jewel because its colours start to glow with the right light. Placed on a wall like this one is just the perfect complement. And a modern designer chair like the one below is a great place to wait for someone...

Silk Scrolls in Modern Living Room or Lounge

The silk scrolls from the Hidden Gems series fit perfectly in a modern interior with designer furniture especially people who love black furniture and reduced decoration. The sophisticated details on these scrolls are only revealed while looking very close.

An Asian style Silk Scroll in a Moroccan House...

You think this does not work? But it does!
This is one of my most favourite houses of this style. The colour is just unbelievable. And if you think hard about it - this house could be at many places in southern regions of this planet not to speak of hanging that silk scroll which is called The Palace.
