The perfect Painting

I really like this sweet little bedroom. Its colours are serene, a perfect mix for mind and soul in order to have a wonderful relaxing night. But it is also a little bit boring. Artwise.

The print on the wall certainly matches the colour concept but it is boring. Even for a little room like this one you could do so much more with the right piece of art.

Now I found the perfect painting for it that would give this room some more attraction - don't you agree? Even if this is probably "only" a guestroom the painting adds an extra atmosphere. I am kind of surprised myself how a single piece on the wall can have so much impact. But I should have known...

I do not want to diminish the work of the interior designer in any way but I want to show that a single piece of art can make a lot of difference - to the better, sometimes to the worse. It is all a matter of taste, emotion and attitude. But it is worth to take time to look for the right piece.

A Painting that complements the Cushions

From time to time I find this funny - looking for a piece of art that complements other accessories. Hm - I don't have a problem with that even if I consider myself a serious painter. I feel that art should be on a wall and if someone is looking for a great decoration piece - fine with me.

I do not paint for mere decoration, my work is reflecting my interests, my emotions, sometimes anger but more often joy, fascination and admiration. And most of all my work is coming from memories and impressions I have had the luck to see somewhere on this world, be it in the neighbourhood or on the other side of this planet.

A cosy Girl's Bedroom in Pink and a Red Door

This is a bedroom for girls but why not adding a piece of fine art - just to fuel a bit the phantasies - not the worst purpose of fine art . "What is behind the door"? Isn't this a question we are all asking when we see a closed door? Well - ready to make up a story around this... At least the originators of these doors and walls the painting has been inspired by are also still kids - more or less - students from University of Munich and their village.

Unfortunately I did not receive permission to show you how this lovely room looks like with the painting which I fully understand. In my own world I would have placed the painting below between the 2 sconces. But I think you have enough imagination for seeing this possibility.

A little Colour for the Stairway...

No - not everything needs to be colour toned in the same range - sometimes you should have a little extra. So why not adding a little piece of interest and climbing up the staircase will be fun. You will have a reason for making a little pause - LOL.
I love homes where you can discover small interesting bits and pieces everywhere. It is like going on a little discovery tour. Even if you have been a thousand times in your friends' home - isn't it fun to notice things which you haven't found before and you ask yourself "how on earth could I have missed that"?

Colours for the Stairway....

Who says that doorways have to be white? Colours can be so charming and exciting. Preferences for bold colours can be a passion and especially old houses can experience a revival if the owner is couragious enough to try something different than usual.

Folk art and modern art often have something in common: bold colours. Colours have so much impact on soul and emotion - so why not take advantage of a simple fact?

I thought that this acrylic painting Red Door would made a lovely addition to this wonderful stairway... From the Reminiscences series - please check out this link for details.

The Red Door into Dreams...

I found the original painting that the interior designers placed on the wall a bit too prominent and bone-crushing although the addition of red was the right supplement in my opinion for this room. The red brings a bit more warmth into the bedroom which otherwise would have been a bit too bland.

I think a smaller painting such as this acrylic painting Red Door from the Reminiscences series would be the better choice - or what do you think about this? Another example that it is not easy to find the right art and perfect choice for a room. Check out this link if you want to see more details...
